Super fun Play-Doh barber action. update - broke really fast after heavy use
By Amazon Customer
We purchased the Play-Doh Crazy Cuts at a local retailer this past weekend, and thus far, it's a big hit with our twin girls. It's so popular that we might have to buy another this weekend.
The set comes with 3 figures, a 'daddy', 'mommy', and 'brother' as my girls call them. It also comes with 6 medium sized cans of Play Doh, a barber chair (that has a handle and crank to make the hair 'grow', two hair molds, four barber tools, and numerous other molds available on the base/back of the chair.
We love the crank style for the hair growth. It's better and safer than other sets that require you to manually push down a chair on top of a rod.
Highly recommended and one of our current favorite toys, our girls play with it every night
update: after about a week of heavy play, the barber chair started having issues. when cranking the lever to push the playdoh up and make hair, the mechanism would get 'caught' several times during cranking and make loud 'cracking' noises. guess heavy play shifted something inside and the mechanism is no longer smooth, getting caught. Too bad, because it really hinders the use as it sounds really bad and makes it more resistant to cranking...lowering my rating because of this

Save the box for examples, there are no booklet with the set. The three pieces are play razors. It also comes the hair moulds and three heads. We had fun, but I am glad I saved the box!
This is much better than the old barber shop set I had as a kid
By VS Grenier
My kids just love Play-Doh. I'm not the biggest fan now that I'm an adult as it always seems my kids find ways to smash it into my floors or whatever is around them. With that said, this set is actually one of the few that really does what is says. A lot of Play-Doh sets look fun, but don't function as well or are harder to clean then you would expect. This set is easy to clean. It also comes with a lot more than other Play-Doh sets I've bought in the past.
You get 6 sample size tubs of Play-Doh, not full size tubs. So you might want to buy some of the regular tubs of Play-Doh as the ones you get will only last for so long. What do I mean by this? Well they might dry out after a few uses, which is normal, but the biggest reason you'll want to buy some regular Play-Doh sized tubs is because after a few times of play, these will become mixed-up colors. Also, one full sample sized tub will need to be used each time your child wants to grow the hair on the Doh-people.
I did like how the set comes with a complete family: Mom, Dad and kid. When I was younger, this set had only one Doh person. There are a lot of accessories with this set making it feel more like a real barber shop than the older set did. The best part is the chair. I remember my old set like this and the chair was so hard to clean and if you over cranked the handle...it broke.
Play-Doh has improved the chair, making it much easier to clean and your child can't over crank because the plunger actually can be removed. Keeping it from braking from over use or over cranking.
The only issue this set still have is getting the Play-Doh out of the Doh people. You still have to use a toothpick to punch the Play-Doh out of the holes on their heads. A great way to make cleaning these guys easier would be having them snap apart. This would be too hard to do and I'm not sure why Play-Doh hasn't figured this out yet.
This is an awesome set - updated from "when we were kids" too

This is an awesome set - updated from "when we were kids" too. (I never had the set though, so trying out this one was great!)
There was an enormous amount of giggling involved in playing with this set and it's holding my 4 year old's attention time after time.
Pro:
The set comes with 6 dainty cans of dough.
There are 2 hairstyle shapers that are crazy fun to play with.
3 people to experiment with!
Con:
You still need to use a toothpick or skewer to clean out the holes in their heads when you're done playing. Still no tool included to do this.
The set doesn't fit back into the box after you assemble the chair - this is only faintly irritating because we were traveling when we opened the set.
The little hairdresser tools are a little too small for my 4 year old's hands - a little bigger would be more fun.
My girls love this toy, I don't love the messiness of it.

The kids 3-6 love to play with this, lots of hair to design and great options for Mohawks etc. I would recommend using the bigger play doh cans to get longer hair. Lots of little accessories, a little child friendly scissors, razors, Mohawk design and the chair has little molds at the base and back. Cute little family with mom, dad, and kid can be styled.
My kids would give this five stars, I gave it four because it entertains them for hours, but it is messy and kind of annoying to clean. The little holes get play doh stuck in them. You can use the side of the razor tool to push the play doh out, but it is a little bit of a project. Also, a small amount of play doh gets stuck at the back of the chair and inbetween the little white crank part that extrudes the play doh hair out,
so it either has to be cleaned out or it hardens in there. Just little things that my kids still need help with and my type A personality wants to get it all clean, but this is minor in comparison to the joy they get from playing with it and turning the little crank to grow the hair, then enjoying styling it. A lot of fun, just know the adult may have to help with clean up a bit.
